Is there a monthly fee?
There is no monthly fee to use the Zamzee website. Once your child has a meter that's all that is necessary to use Zamzee. They can take challenges, earn Zamz and use those Zamz to purchase rewards.
How does Zamzee make money?
Zamzee was founded as a social enterprise – which means that our founders and investors are interested in getting kids and families moving first, and profits second. We chose to be a for-profit company because we thought that was the most effective way to grow our business and reach as many people as possible. But, yeah – we have bills too, so here is how we make our money:
First, we sell you the meter for a little bit more than it costs us to make it. We try to keep the price as low as we possibly can, so we price it just to cover our basic costs.
Second, we sell "Goals" - these are optional things that parents buy for their kids to allow them to turn their movement into rewards more quickly.
Third, we work with companies that care about families and their health to sponsor Challenges. Challenges are the free way for kids to turn their movement into rewards. These are free to you, because our partners pay for them.
Does the whole family need to buy Zamzee meters?
No, not at all. Many kids use Zamzee individually. However we've found that parent support (e.g., making Zamzee a family activity by getting meters for everyone, setting up a Family View account, utilizing Goalz to encourage progress, etc.) and healthy sibling competition can be tremendous motivators.

give you a full refund.
Lost your meter?
Email Zed (zed@zamzee.com) and let us know! We'll give you a 50% discount on that
replacement meter.
Broken Zamzee?
Email Zed! We'll send you a self-addressed stamped envelope. You send us
the broken meter, and we will replace it with a new meter free of cost.
